Beginning
June 20 and continuing through July 25, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is
offering its week-long, half day Kids Camps, which bring age-appropriate Chesapeake-themed
camps for children 4-7 years of age.
Led
by a CBMM educator, young Kids Club campers explore the magic of the Chesapeake
Bay’s people, animals, and watercraft through fun and interactive activities,
stories, games, and crafts.
CBMM’s
summer camps for children 4-5 years of age are offered during the weeks of June
20, July 4, and July 18; camps for children 6-7 years of age are offered the
weeks of June 27, July 11, and July 25.
Daily
camps take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with campers meeting at CBMM’s
Dorchester House and exploring the museum’s 18-acre campus and numerous
exhibition buildings as part of the program.
Participation
is limited, with camps filling fast and pre-registration required. The cost for
the week-long camp is $125 for CBMM members, or $150 for non-members, with
scholarships available.
